Determining the profitability of just one multi-material non-ferrous transaction can be difficult. This is due to the complexity of applying settlement grading, weight differences, and at times the need to pro-rate the freight liability over several materials by weight. This scenario causes some companies not to track this type of detail at all. Given the value of non-ferrous materials, not understanding the profitability or lack of these transactions can be very costly.
SAI recently rolled out our new Multi-Materials Sales module to address and simplify the data entry and settlement process for these highly valuable transactions. To complement this module we are now introducing the newest application in our X-Sight business analysis suite, Settlement Analysis. This application provides a powerful analytical tool that allows the user to review these transactions to determine where money is being made and lost. This is accomplished at multiple levels, by consumer, supplier, grade, and trader in summary reporting. The ability to set min/max tolerances by dollars and/or weight differences allows the user to pin point both high profit and problem areas within their business.
As with all X-Sight applications, the ability to drill down to the underlying detail is as easy as clicking on the appropriate links.
